Bird feeders are fantastic. Two weeks ago, we spent some time at the Arena Blanca Reserve, in north Peru. Every morning, Norbil, the manager and owner of the reserve, put bananas on a snag in front of his garden. Then, a few minutes later, a myriad of tanagers and other birds come to feast on the fresh fruit. Norbil has identifed more than 10 species so far. We saw 8 species during our latest visit.
