The Amazon birding and photography tour explores, in 9 days, the incredible biodiversity of South-Eastern Peruvian Amazonia. This tour focuses on birds, landscapes, and occasionally mammals and big reptiles.

Our Amazon birding and photography tour goes to the Tambopata National Reserve. The protected area expands over 1,000 square miles of Amazonian rainforest, oxbow lakes, and flooded forest. Moreover, this large area of different habitats is home to more than 100 species of mammals, some 600 species of birds, and hundreds of species of trees and other plants.

We stay at the beautiful Posada Amazonas Lodge for 2 nights. Here, we will explore the different habitats around the lodge, looking for Giant River Otters, caimans, and the rare Dwarf Caiman. We also climb to the top of the canopy tower, an excellent place to photograph birds like macaws, raptors, toucans, woodpeckers, and others. Several trails around the lodge worth the hike for manakins, trogons, trumpeteers, and other wildlife photography opportunities.

Likewise, the Amazon birding and photography tour goes to the incredibly biodiverse Tambopata Research Center lodge. Certainly, a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers in Peruvian Amazonia. We will have fabulous views of the forest from the canopy tower. Also, during the tour we visit a large the macaw clay lick, and an oxbow lake looking for tapirs, anacondas, and jaguars.

While returning to the city of Puerto Maldonado we stay one night at Refugio Amazonas lodge. Here, to see and photograph more birds.
