WHY TRAVEL WITH
GREEN TOURS
Green Tours, operating under the trade name of Cheqa Peru SRL, is a distinguished Peruvian tour operator established in 2006. Our primary objective is to provide exceptional, top-tier services for tourism operations in Peru, combining innovation, comfort, safety, and a strong commitment to our social and environmental responsibilities.
In recent years, Green Tours has solidified its position as a prominent Peruvian tour operator, specializing in ground logistics for American, Canadian, and British birding companies. Our experienced guides and logistics team have accompanied birders and wildlife photographers for over 15 years, ensuring unforgettable experiences in Peru’s natural wonders.
As an active member of the Peruvian Association for Eco and Adventure Tourism (APTAE), Green Tours contributes to the advancement of sustainable tourism practices. Since 2016, we have been actively supporting small-scale conservation efforts in northern Peru, specifically focusing on the preservation of the tropical dry forest habitat. Furthermore, our commitment to conservation led us to establish the non-profit association “Plantando Futuro”, dedicated to supporting initiatives that protect endangered species like the Grey-bellied Comet and Peruvian Plantcutter.

I live in the city of Tarapoto, located in northern Peru. I’m a specialist bird and nature guide. I have the ability to identify birds by its vocalization and quick display. At the same time, I have a good knowledge of the best places for birding in the whole country. I concluded my studies of Tourism Management at the San Martin National University. I speak English and Spanish. My interest in nature started when I was a child while traveling with my mother. I’ve been guiding professionally since 2007, being trained by local birding authorities like José Alvarez Alonso, Noam Shany, and Constantino Aucca Chutas.
Oscar Mishaja
I was born in the native community of Infierno, near the city of Puerto Maldonado, at the entrance gate of the Tambopata National Reserve. I’ve spent most of my life in the forest of Tambopata, and I decided to become a bird guide because of the joy of sharing my experiences with the visitors. I’ve been guiding naturalists in Tambopata for more than 10 years, then I specialized in guiding birding groups during a traineeship while working in Pantanal (Brazil). Then, I returned to Peru to be a full time birding and nature guide in Tambopata. Currently, I’m also travelling to other parts of Peru to increase my knowledge of the Peruvian birds, so I’ll be able to guide in other places of the country.

I consider myself very enthusiastic and passionate for my work. I’ve been guiding in northern Peru for more than 10 years for important companies like Green Tours, Overseas Adventure Travel, Abercrombie & Kent, North Peru Tours, Setours, National Geographic Expeditions, TCS, and others. I speak fluid English, and of course Spanish. I’m always will to accommodate myself to the specific needs of the different clients. I like sports, outdoor activities, and birdwatching. Currently, I’m leading groups with mixed interest in soft birding and archaeology.
